Innovations for more inclusive and responsive adult learning systems
The digital and green transformations of the economy are substantially changing the skill needs of employers. While some U.S. states and regions are well placed to meet these challenges, others are not. OECD analysis finds that adult training is an effective solution to address skill shortages, but only 1 in 2 adults participate in training each year in the U.S. Low-skilled adults are even less likely to train, with a staggering 43-percentage-point gap in the participation rates of high-skilled and low-skilled adults.

This webinar will present good practice of introducing innovations in adult learning systems to make them more responsive to the needs of workers and firms. Examples of such innovations include upgrading existing ways to incentivise adult learning; making use of new technology to deliver training; experimenting with new ways to certify training or developing new training formats to prepare individuals for emerging jobs in the green and digital economy.

The webinar will include a brief presentation by the OECD on the key challenges in adult learning, followed by presentations of international examples of good practices and a discussion with State officials.
