For young people around the world, the COVID-19 pandemic has not only severely disrupted education, but also presented them with the challenge of navigating transitions through education and into ultimate work during a period of economic turbulence. In response to concerns over growing youth unemployment, over the last year the OECD has been engaged in an unprecedented analysis of national longitudinal datasets to identify aspects of career guidance associated with better employment outcomes for youth – even in times of economic crisis. At this October conference, conclusions from the Career Readiness in the Pandemic project will be presented by Andreas Schleicher, OECD Director for Education and Skills. The event is an opportunity moreover to share insights from research and practice to help governments and schools support today’s students as effectively as possible.
PLEASE NOTE that the conference will be recorded with presentations publicly available for viewing.
