Water governance for peace [ 11:00 – 13:00 CET]
The COVID-19 highlighted inequalities in access to safe drinking water and sanitation services, in a context in which many countries are still not on track to achieve the SDG 6 on clean water and sanitation. The session will discuss the way forward to achieve SDG 6 and SDG 16 on peace, justice and strong institutions. Panellists will debate how better water governance can lead to enhanced social well-being and effective use of resources, particularly in light of building back better after the COVID-19 pandemic.
