Webinar: Stewarding Innovation Portfolios for Collective System Change
Innovation portfolio management is becoming a core practice for intentional and proactive public sector innovation units to prepare governments to address a diversity of challenges. The practice helps build clarity of purpose of innovation, oversight of the interrelationships between innovation support activities, prompts for ideas for change, and signals of deficiencies and gaps. But the challenges that governments face now and in the future will increasingly require collective action by others, meaning innovation portfolio management becomes an activity beyond organisational boundaries. This webinar explores the role of governments and institutions in stewarding innovation portfolios among an ecosystem of actors, including emerging strategies for catalysing and sustaining collective system change. Participants will be invited to share their own examples of innovation portfolio management and pose questions to the case presenters.

Topics covered:
Values and benefits of innovation portfolio management
What is in the portfolio and how that affects its management
Coordinating across different initiatives and multi-stakeholder environments
Providing a common direction and enabling others to take on actions in their own ways
Evaluating the impact of innovation portfolio management efforts
